Campfire’s Campout and Little Chill returns to a Somerset farm in July

A Gathering of the Tribes

It’s three years since Campfire’s last Campout and we are very happy to be gathering together on a Somerset farm over four days in late July.

We are combining with Angelfish / Inspire and the Elevate communities to invite you to four days and four nights of community co-creation, around shared conversations, workshops, talks, arts and crafts, storytelling, fun, laughter and new best friendships.

For our full programme, please scroll to the bottom of the page.

We are offering a rare opportunity to put our phones away, immerse ourselves in nature and share our food, skills, music, stories and outdoor activities.

What will be happening?

This is a gathering where we bring our own creativity and unique gifts to co-create a safe community space.

The Campfire Convention gathering is in and around the Horseshoe Barn and will offer a more adult-oriented programme:

Ideas and Discussions

Every conversation can make a difference.  More than ever, we need new models for living in a radically changing world. We have a unique opportunity to build resilient community from the grass roots with potential to transform humanity and evolve our world.

This year we have also partnered with Elevate, founded by Bristol-based activist and content creator Dan Astin-Gregory to deliver the Elevate Experience in the Campfire Horseshoe Barn space on Sunday.

Elevate is dedicated to creating thought-provoking content and inspired experiences designed to make sense of the world's most pressing issues whilst exploring the inner and outer paths to transformation. Dan will deliver a morning keynote on Sunday and invite you to take part in a programme of participatory experiences and talks to inspire an exploration of human sovereignty and the development of empowered communities.

Learning and sharing

What sort of world will we pass on to future generations? How can we redefine the parameters of passing on knowledge and wisdom to young people so that we become good ancestors. How do we develop consensus building and non-violent communication skills? How do we really and learn the art of good conversation? How do we learn to accept that we all have different views and how can we learn to be more curious about each other?

Open Space

We have one full day without anything programmed. Together, as community, we shape the day. You create your own topics, sessions, performance, participation.

What is Campfire?

The Campfire Convention community is an ad-free, algorithm-free, member-led conscious social network working for social change that puts people and the planet at its heart.

We have a vision to join the dots and find the common denominator through creating an ecosystem made up of existing communities, who are working for the conscious transformation that we all know is starting to happen.

We’re online and offline.

It's time to reclaim social networking from the corporate tech-giants. Campfire is a move from ‘what can I get out of this?’ to ‘How can I be in service to the wellbeing of the planet? Can I play a part in this? What can we build together?  How can we facilitate change?

Where is Campout?

The Somerset Camp Out is happening at Fernhill Farm, in the heart of the Mendips, just minutes drive from Frome, Bristol and Glastonbury.

Fernhill Farm is one of Somerset's best-loved rustic outdoor venues and its unique energy makes it an ideal space to birth new ideas and collaborations.

The farm has great camping facilities, indoor toilets, electricity, good lighting and a large kitchen for communal cooking. There will be other food options available on site too.

Fernhill is well known for its creative workshops in traditional arts, crafts, ecology and natural farming.

Check out the farm - https://www.fernhill-farm.co.uk/

What would you like to bring to Campfire’s Campout?

Some people might just want to sit round the fire with friends, eat healthy food and relax. Others might want to learn a new skill and offer a workshop or get more involved in setting up the camp or holding a workshop, music or a space.

The magic will be in meeting new friends, opening new possibilities and new ways of looking at the world.

You are welcome for four days: Arrival on Friday 22nd July from 14:00. We have four days and nights until we depart after lunch on Tuesday 26th.

Bring your friends, your stories, your dreams, your instruments, food and drink to share and an open mind.

NB: This may be a life-changing event!
